Dan has a musical style unlike anything you’ve come across. His music grabs you quickly and doesn’t let go… folkish, melody driven, clever, original tunes…. and plenty of old country and rock tunes. Enter Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Johnny Cash, and Tom Petty. There’s no denying his talent when he belts out his raw Americana. He’s an artist in every sense of the word.

Dan was born and raised in the foothills of the Elkhorn Mountains under the shadows of East Helena’s smelter smokestacks.  He’s performed at venues from LA to Boise to just about everywhere in Montana.   In 2007, one of Dan’s performances earned him the honor of Colgate Country Showdown finalist.

In August 2009, Dan released his solo cd “Travelin’ Dog”.

Jawbone Railroad is a rough and rowdy ride through the early days of radio. Featuring Blaise Arsenault on guitar and banjo, Walt Burns on mandolin, guitar and banjo-uke, and Suzanne Ford on bass, they draw on a mix of fiddle tunes,mountain music and blues of the 1920-30’s–both classic and obscure.

We have a great time and we make sure that everyone does!  Lots of cover songs that everyone recognizes, from Johnny Cash to Fleetwood Mac, Hendrix to Hank, Merle to Dylan to the Beatles.  Three part harmonies make for great vocals and hot guitar rocks when needed.

Cash For Junkers formed in Missoula in 1998, playing for drinks and tips every Sunday at Charlie B’s. Voted best band in Missoula in 2000, C4J began traveling around Montana and later around the northern part of the U.S.

C4J has played at great venues from Seattle to Minneapolis, and shared the stage with great musicians like The Gourds, Kim Lenz, Deke Dickerson, and Johnny Gimble. 

Our music is influenced by western swing, classic honky-tonk country, early jazz, bluegrass and a lot of other styles. We call it “musical grab-ass”.
