Dan has a musical style unlike anything you’ve come across. His music grabs you quickly and doesn’t let go… folkish, melody driven, clever, original tunes…. and plenty of old country and rock tunes. Enter Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Johnny Cash, and Tom Petty. There’s no denying his talent when he belts out his raw Americana. He’s an artist in every sense of the word.

Dan was born and raised in the foothills of the Elkhorn Mountains under the shadows of East Helena’s smelter smokestacks. He’s performed at venues from LA to Boise to just about everywhere in Montana. In 2007, one of Dan’s performances earned him the honor of Colgate Country Showdown finalist.

In August 2009, Dan released his solo cd “Travelin’ Dog”.

“Dan has the voice of a poet, mixed with some rusty, shredded barbed wire. His lyrics call it like it is. Pure grit, true beauty, with a zesty sprinkle of humor.”
-John Mclellan, The Clintons

“Whether Dan is on stage with his band or rocking out solo, he can pack the dance floor. I’ve never seen one guy do that. I’m amazed at how he produces such a full sound all by himself. And his repertoire appeals to a diverse audience.”
-Patrick Harris, Carroll College Events Director

For more than two decades the SADDLE TRAMPS BAND has been entertaining audiences all through the U.S.. The SADDLE TRAMPS BAND learned how to make people dance and listen, while acquiring a sound all thier own. In time, the groups sound and popularity made them an attraction at fairs, corporate events, and music festivals across the U.S.. Soon thier original music had them sharing the stage with National Touring Acts such as, Mark Chesnutt, Sammy Kershaw, Pat Green, Black Hawk and Emerson Drive, just to name a few. In addition, The SADDLE TRAMPS BAND has appeared on CNN, The Travel Channel,NBC Dateline and 11th and Grant Show. This show you must see to agree that the SADDLE TRAMPS BAND has one of the hottest fiddle acts in the country. With strong harmonies and uncontrollable, contagious humor. This exceptionally talented group consists of: Tom Holsyzko-singer/songwriter,guitar and fiddle. Gary Peterson-singer/songwriter,bass guitar. Michael Parsons-vocals, fiddle, mandolin, banjo and guitar. Don Parsons-vocals,drums and percussion.

We have a great time and we make sure that everyone does! Lots of cover songs that everyone recognizes, from Johnny Cash to Fleetwood Mac, Hendrix to Hank, Merle to Dylan to the Beatles. Three part harmonies make for great vocals and hot guitar rocks when needed.

The COLD HARD CASH show is an innovative and unique tribute to the life and music of Johnny Cash.

Frontman Merle Peterson moves and sings like Cash, with power and composure, with an intensity and focus- more calculated than contrived. He’s a conjurer of sorts, evoking the essence of Johnny Cash in song and spoken word. Merle is joined by a stellar band- Jeff Carroll (Bass / Trumpet) and Felipe Torres (Drums)- whose unparalleled comprehension of Cash music goes far beyond just the notes- into subtlety, nuance, and proper tone. The COLD HARD CASH Show captures the look, feel, and sound of ‘Folsom Prison’ era Cash.

Cash For Junkers formed in Missoula in 1998, playing for drinks and tips every Sunday at Charlie B’s. Voted best band in Missoula in 2000, C4J began traveling around Montana and later around the northern part of the U.S.

C4J has played at great venues from Seattle to Minneapolis, and shared the stage with great musicians like The Gourds, Kim Lenz, Deke Dickerson, and Johnny Gimble.

Our music is influenced by western swing, classic honky-tonk country, early jazz, bluegrass and a lot of other styles. We call it “musical grab-ass”.
