El Dealbreakers offer a unique musical experience for any setting, acoustic or amplified. The band instrumentation includes accordion, bajo quinto (a 10-stringed guitar about halfway between a guitar and a bass), mandolin, trumpet, and sousaphone, and often features additional instrumentation like trombone and fiddle.

With this line-up El Dealbreakers performs traditional and original songs, from country to blues, from reggae to rock, from polka to punk. A typical set includes tunes by the likes of Hank Williams, Iggy Pop, Toots & The Maytals, Elvis Costello, Manu Chao and Johnny Cash, interspersed with polkas, traditional songs and the band’s own creations.

This is good-time music for bars, cafes, parties, shindigs, dances, or anywhere looking for a little wackiness.

It all started in February of 2009, when Dave asked Josh jokingly “Hey J, wanna start a reggae band?” Soon came Tim and Eric, who had been jammin’ ukuleles with Josh for a while. Sam was then asked to join the band as the drummer/token white dude. But alas, there was a problem. Sam felt lonely and slightly threatened being surrounded by four large minorities in a small practice room, so Loren soon joined the band as white man backup/epic bass player. Four months later, LandLocked quickly gained a reputation as the “best feel good dance music in Montana”, sharing the stage with nationally touring acts such as State Radio, Iration, and The Dirty Heads. Their sound can best be described as island reggae smothered in rock gravy and peppered with hip hop….tangy. For a good time call 555-5555, or just come party with LandLocked.
