Tra le Gael is a four piece Celtic string, wind and vocal ensemble based in the Flathead Valley and performing all over Montana and the Northwest. Our music ranges from traditional ballads and soaring airs to driving, energetic reels and jigs. We love to play, and we get great feedback from our audiences in both casual and formal settings.

The band consists of Katy Meyers on Celtic folk harp, Karin Hilding on penny whistle and flute, Barbara Calm on hammered dulcimer, and Gary Morris on mandolins and guitar, with vocal harmonies all around.

Tra le Gael is a favorite for community concerts, festivals, and private parties. We especially enjoy playing for weddings. A schedule of public concerts can be found at http://calmanimalcare.com/schedule.htm

Our Music is a contemporary expression of traditional values that comes from the sacred drum of the earths heart beat.

The driving influence of our music is our native culture. We want to bring the past and present together, passing these values down from our elders to our youth. The music is mostly our perspective of the world we live in with what we have gained from our tribal communities. By living on our rez, we understand a unique balance of our past and present culture and the hope for the future. We try to express our native outlook on the state of the world by re-discovering the old ways in a new world and reaching an agreement between the old and new ways. In our efforts we hope to help others to explore ideas of change. As we all know, the progressions of modern life need to be re-evaluated.

Our lyrics are commentary of this life, and things we have dealt with growing up here. We focus on getting back to our spiritual and cultural ways.
The music itself a reflection of our world and a venue to reach the people of today. With prayers of making them aware of our dying cultures and traditions. It is only by reaching them that this dying culture will survive in future generations.

WarCry is a Native American band that originates from the Salish-Kootenai Reservation near Flathead lake in Montana. Our goal is to encourage others to live in a better way. To follow the “Warriors Path”.

“It doesn’t get much more underground than the frequently frozen hinterlands of Montana, and not many would expect a metal band of any quality to hail from such an inauspicious location. If places like Norway have taught the world anything, however, it’s that the frigid backwoods can produce some very surprising musical talents. Throne of Malediction is one such group of up-and-comers who have been forced to make their own unique sound because, frankly, there just aren’t enough other bands in their scene for them to copy anyone else”……”There are echoes of death metal, thrash, and even hardcore, but none of those labels fully apply to the music as a whole.”

Back Adit is a 4 or 5 pc. band (we have the option to include the drummer if needed) and we play, for lack of a better description, eclectic retro folk jazz/swing. We are influenced by Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks as well as the styles of the 1940’s dance era. Instruments incude tenor, alto, soprano sax, flute, harmonica, misc. percussion, acoustic and electric guitar, bass, acoustic and electric mandolin and banjo. We emphasize vocals and in most songs use 3 part harmonies and lots of call & response type singing.

“Blue Argon glows into the night with a bluer blend of soft blues with tints of smoky jazz.” Blue Argon is a trio from Kalispell, Montana consisting of Colleen Cunningham, vocals and guitar; Steve Sellars, lead guitar and harmonica; Jim Clayborn, guitar. Blue Argon has created a very unique style offering a blend of soft blues with tints of smoky jazz. Our song list consists of some obscure, but wonderful songs such as “Cry Me River” by Julie London, “Sugar In My Bowl” by Nina Simone, “Misty Blue” by Dorothy Moore, and “Tough On Me, Tough On You” by Lonnie Mack, to name a few. Blue Argon also performs songs by Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, Gladys Knight, Reverend Al Green, Leon Russell, Freddie King, Bill Withers, Delbert McClinton, Keb Mo’, and even blues legend Robert Johnson. A little retro-surf guitar is occasionally thrown in… all delivered with a Blue Argon twist.
