High Voltage is a young rock n’ roll band from the great city of Missoula. Like their name implies, they have an electric combination of soaring vocals (Brittney Rowley), blistering guitar (Josh Rhines), thumping bass (Nick Hawthorne), soothing saxophone (Adam Goodover), spacey synth (Oliver Huang) and thunderous drums (Collin Scott). Combining elements of classic rock, blues, alternative, jazz and metal, the band hopes to offer something fresh and interesting.

Currently, High Voltage is writing and rehearsing the songs on their debut album “Mind, Body & Soul”, due to be recorded and released the first half of 2011. Along with writing their album, they are playing out as much as possible, trying to gain new fans and establish themselves in the Missoula and Montana music scene.

They have played notable events, such as the 4th of July in Seeley Lake, playing in the Osprey Stadium, and headlining Friday and Saturday night of the 2010 Testicle Festival.

The Cold Hard Cash Show is an original and innovative tribute to the music of Johnny Cash. Fronted by guitarist and singer Cousin Merle Travis, the Cold Hard Cash Show brings to life classic Cash songs and old time favorites, with a sound so accurate, you’d think you’ve traveled back in time. Cousin Merle sings like Cash and plays like Luther Perkins, but that’s not all. He is equally skilled at Classic Country, Blues and Rockabilly music. His band, like many great bands, has had many former members, who in there time, played Cash music wonderfully for the Show. The current line-up includes the fantastic drummer, Fel Torres. His impeccable shuffle style train beat is like no other. It’s the machine that drives the band. Johnny Pope plays the up-right Bass Fiddle. He’s got the boom-chicka and the clicked-clack dialed! Nothing sounds like the Dog-House Bass, and nobody makes it sound like Johnny Pope.

Drum Brothers present high energy performances that celebrate a diverse mix of world instruments and sounds: West African jembe and dunun drums, Middle Eastern frame drums, Australian didgeridoo, close harmony vocals, acoustic guitar, flute, saxophone, and original arrangements and compositions. They’ve performed at numerous venues throughout the Northwest and Canada, have been a featured act at the Seattle World Percussion Festival, and have shared the stage with Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Drum Brothers have been at the forefront of the American hand drumming movement since it began in the early 1990s. Over the years, they have offered numerous school and community rhythm classes, drum circles, and more recently, interactive team building events for organizations and community groups. The ensemble is comprised of Matthew and Michael Marsolek, Lawrence Duncan, and Colin Ruggiero.

In the early 1970′s the music of the 50′s was enjoying a renewed interest, energy and excitement. Movies were being made the likes of American Graffiti, Grease and of course television shows as well (Happy Days to name just one) all used the music and melodies from the songs of the 50′s era as a background for their TV shows, commercials and advertisements. The look, the sound and the attitude was everywhere across America and the world. Bands were forming from town to town across the nation just to try to duplicate that rocking sound with the driving beat. Sha Na Na and Flash Cadillac enjoyed national recognition. There were regional bands that formed just to play the music at parties and dances with no real chance of making it big, but still there was a magic and energy in that sound. It was in this period that The Bop-A-Dips were also born. Eight college boys lured by the dream of meeting girls and impressing friends. Yes, these boys from Chico State came together and formed The Bop-A-Dips. They practiced long and hard hoping they could become big stars…..or at least get free beer for playing their music at a Frat Party!

Predictably tough to pin the music into one neat and tidy genre, Tom Catmull and the Clerics present an electrified, roots-driven sound supported by the upright bass, pedal steel/electric guitar, acoustic guitar, drums and some leaping around. Imagine the aggressive nature of the Old 97′s occasionally reined in by the lyrical and musical flavorings of John Hiatt or Phil Lee. Now, imagine yourself wearing a silly hat. Anyway,…with last years release of Glamour Puss, this band has furthered its reputation to both showcase original music AND leave people sweaty and exhausted at 1:30am. Tom and the Clerics have been voted “Best Local Musician” and “Best Local Band”(respectively) by the Missoula Independents Annual “Best Of” Readers Poll for 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010! How’s that for flag wavin’? Go Clerics!

A long time favorite of the swing dancing crowd, C4J plays original tunes and their own reworking of classic and obscure tunes from the 1920 on through today.

C4J has opened for groups such as the Gourds, Kim Lenz, and Deke Dickerson, and has traveled to Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Seattle, Portland, and Weiser, Idaho, as well as most of Montana.

Currently, the band features Tyler Roady on vocals and rhythm guitar, Grace Decker on vocals, fiddle, and mandolin, Nate Biehl on vocals, mandolin, fiddle, tenor banjo, and electric guitar, John Rosett on electric guitar, steel guitar, and mandolin, Jeff Turman on upright bass, and Angie Biehl on drums. These musicians bring years of experience to the band, and they know how to swing it hard and pick it purty!
