Ramblin’ Rose The Missoula bluegrass duo, Ramblin’ Rose, combines the musical talents of Phyllis Erck and Curtis Rathburn. When the two met several years ago, there was magic in the air when they spontaneously started singing harmonies together. They’re musical backgrounds are vastly diverse. Curtis is a former rock ‘n roll singer and blues guitar sensation. Phyllis Erck is a classically trained vocalist gone old timey. Their quest for common musical ground produced a unique interpretation of bluegrass, gospel and honky tonk selections with Curtis’ basso profundo and Phyllis’ high soprano voice accompanied by Curtis’ soulful guitar moves and Phyllis’ capturing accompaniment on her resonator guitar.

Cash For Junkers formed in Missoula in 1998, playing for drinks and tips every Sunday at Charlie B’s. Voted best band in Missoula in 2000, C4J began traveling around Montana and later around the northern part of the U.S.

C4J has played at great venues from Seattle to Minneapolis, and shared the stage with great musicians like The Gourds, Kim Lenz, Deke Dickerson, and Johnny Gimble.

Our music is influenced by western swing, classic honky-tonk country, early jazz, bluegrass and a lot of other styles. We call it “musical grab-ass”.

ZebraCity is a four piece from Missoula, MT. Members include: Phil Lear, Michael Boise, Gunner Hoy, and Andy Putra. They are each originally from various past bands from across Montana including: Otherwise, Have A Nice Coma, Lethal Device, and Big Quinn And The Broken Hearts Band. ZebraCity’s music is very original and off the map as far as genres are concerned. Their music is very bass driven with chilling guitar riffs that re-invent the electric guitar.
Listen closely to Remnant and you’ll find more than a unique array of thoughtfully assembled and moving lyrics, more than soaring rock driven guitar melodies, more than soulfully driven vocal leads. What you’ll find is a message. Remant draws it’s influences from many; Lifehouse, Switchfoot, Anberlin, Goo Goo Dolls. Though it’s original sound is comparable to few, its message is simple. With a captivating live show, a self titled CD available for purchase, and the ability to draw young and old, believer and non-believer with their provocative sound, Remnant emerges as strong as ever striking a lost chord in the depths of those who will listen to the messages of hope, love, redemption, and faith in these unique songs.

Tom Catmull has been writing, recording, performing, eating and breathing music for about 16 years. He is originally from South Texas, but moved to Missoula, MT in 1994 where he currently resides on the North side of the rails with is wife and two young sons. His performances are split between intimate listening rooms and well weathered dance halls where he cavorts with an outstanding(if slightly unruly) four piece Americana band, The Clerics. It’s predictably tough to pin the music into one neat and tidy genre, but it is definitely an electrified, roots-driven sound supported by the upright bass, pedal steel/electric guitar, acoustic guitar, drums and the occasional banjo. You might also be subjected to some whistling. Consider yourself warned. Still unsure of what the heck you might be concerning yourself with? Imagine the aggressive nature of the Old 97’s occasionally reigned in by the lyrical and musical possession of John Hiatt or Phil Lee. Wit
h last years release of GLAMOUR PUSS, this band has further propelled its reputation to balance the discipline of showcasing original music with the ability and desire to burn down a honky-tonk.
