Dan Hunthausen & the Travelin’ Dogs

Dan has a musical style unlike anything you’ve come across. His music grabs you quickly and doesn’t let go… folkish, melody driven, clever, original tunes…. and plenty of old country and rock tunes. Enter Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Johnny Cash, and Tom Petty. There’s no denying his talent when he belts out his raw Americana. He’s an artist in every sense of the word.

Dan was born and raised in the foothills of the Elkhorn Mountains under the shadows of East Helena’s smelter smokestacks.  He’s performed at venues from LA to Boise to just about everywhere in Montana.   In 2007, one of Dan’s performances earned him the honor of Colgate Country Showdown finalist.

In August 2009, Dan released his solo cd “Travelin’ Dog”.

“Dan has the voice of a poet, mixed with some rusty, shredded barbed wire. His lyrics call it like it is. Pure grit, true beauty, with a zesty sprinkle of humor.”
-John Mclellan, The Clintons

“Whether Dan is on stage with his band or rocking out solo, he can pack the dance floor. I’ve never seen one guy do that. I’m amazed at how he produces such a full sound all by himself.  And his repertoire appeals to a diverse audience.”
-Patrick Harris, Carroll College Events Director

Seriously though…Dan is an entertainer to the core. He’s very enjoyable solo or with his band.

Yeah, I’ve heard this guy. Used to be a great live show when he had that bad-ass drummer, Toby Ferguson, with him.:)
