Our inspiration springs from the old-school blues and roots music from the 1950’s. At that time blues, R&B, jazz, and early rock and roll were all rolling around in the same pot of gumbo. With our songs, vintage threads and gear, and retro-electro tones, we transport the audience back to a time to when electricity and the blues first hooked up. Its groove-based music that sounds familiar, because it’s grounded in the mother root of American music, the blues.

With the elegant power behind the vocals of Amy Greenig, The Barrelhouse Five brings together a quintet of diverse and eclectic musical influences that span the gap between rock and jazz. Bass player Treavor Johnson, drummer Eric “Vinny” Venhuizen, keyboardist Hilary Fabich, and guitarist Eric Berg back Ms. Greenig’s inspiring melodies and accommodate a range of audiences from laid back lounge atmospheres to energetic rock venues.
