Tra le Gael is a four piece Celtic string, wind and vocal ensemble based in the Flathead Valley and performing all over Montana and the Northwest. Our music ranges from traditional ballads and soaring airs to driving, energetic reels and jigs. We love to play, and we get great feedback from our audiences in both casual and formal settings.

The band consists of Katy Meyers on Celtic folk harp, Karin Hilding on penny whistle and flute, Barbara Calm on hammered dulcimer, and Gary Morris on mandolins and guitar, with vocal harmonies all around.

Tra le Gael is a favorite for community concerts, festivals, and private parties. We especially enjoy playing for weddings. A schedule of public concerts can be found at http://calmanimalcare.com/schedule.htm

“It doesn’t get much more underground than the frequently frozen hinterlands of Montana, and not many would expect a metal band of any quality to hail from such an inauspicious location. If places like Norway have taught the world anything, however, it’s that the frigid backwoods can produce some very surprising musical talents. Throne of Malediction is one such group of up-and-comers who have been forced to make their own unique sound because, frankly, there just aren’t enough other bands in their scene for them to copy anyone else”……”There are echoes of death metal, thrash, and even hardcore, but none of those labels fully apply to the music as a whole.”

Back Adit is a 4 or 5 pc. band (we have the option to include the drummer if needed) and we play, for lack of a better description, eclectic retro folk jazz/swing. We are influenced by Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks as well as the styles of the 1940′s dance era. Instruments incude tenor, alto, soprano sax, flute, harmonica, misc. percussion, acoustic and electric guitar, bass, acoustic and electric mandolin and banjo. We emphasize vocals and in most songs use 3 part harmonies and lots of call & response type singing.
