River Runs Red is an extreme metal band from Butte, Montana… the only one of it’s kind from Butte.
River Runs Red initiated their collaboration in the summer of 2006. As the creativity came together and the musicianship improved, venues in the surrounding area started to take notice. With growing popularity the band’s dedication increased and after participating in several shows around the state of Montana, the band decided to take things a bit more serious. With the addition of a technically superior drummer, the band plans to explore fresh territory and begin writing more technically potent songs. After several successful shows that have taken the band virtually everywhere in Montana, River Runs Red will continue to spread their message of dynamic heavy metal, pushing the traditional sound to a new level of brutality. As River Runs Red continues their assault across the spectrum they are catapulting forward, by participating in Project Independent (2007) and Montana Metalfest 3 (2008), as well as sharing the stage with quality acts as Hemlock, Martriden, Merciless Death, The Sammus Theory and Bonded By Blood.

Jesse started playing guitar when he was 17, his inspiration at the time Trey Anastasio. Greg was a good vocalist and was playing various instruments with incredible proficiency. Charles, it’s a long story but we all laughed and cried at one time or another..when he played. They wanted to start The Halo Project, a band about rocking our hardest with good melodies, deep lyrics that have meaning and substance, solid grooves, odd times, thick harmony and most of all Jesus. After two previous drummers, Clayton shows up with all the skill and flavor of Billy Cobham and the feel of Carey. We became more than bandmates and our band has solidified.

Although we’ve only been officially together as a band since late 2008, we’ve thrust ourselves into the music scene and have enjoyed every second of it. Since forming over 5 months ago, we’ve played a countless number of shows in our hometown of Manhattan, MT in such places as The American Legion and The Sports Depot, as well as multiple private parties around the area. Whether your looking for a band that plays those old rock tunes that you love or if you want newer, harder music that you can rock out to, then we’ve got what you need.

Our Music is a contemporary expression of traditional values that comes from the sacred drum of the earths heart beat.

The driving influence of our music is our native culture. We want to bring the past and present together, passing these values down from our elders to our youth. The music is mostly our perspective of the world we live in with what we have gained from our tribal communities. By living on our rez, we understand a unique balance of our past and present culture and the hope for the future. We try to express our native outlook on the state of the world by re-discovering the old ways in a new world and reaching an agreement between the old and new ways. In our efforts we hope to help others to explore ideas of change. As we all know, the progressions of modern life need to be re-evaluated.

Our lyrics are commentary of this life, and things we have dealt with growing up here. We focus on getting back to our spiritual and cultural ways.
The music itself a reflection of our world and a venue to reach the people of today. With prayers of making them aware of our dying cultures and traditions. It is only by reaching them that this dying culture will survive in future generations.

WarCry is a Native American band that originates from the Salish-Kootenai Reservation near Flathead lake in Montana. Our goal is to encourage others to live in a better way. To follow the “Warriors Path”.

“It doesn’t get much more underground than the frequently frozen hinterlands of Montana, and not many would expect a metal band of any quality to hail from such an inauspicious location. If places like Norway have taught the world anything, however, it’s that the frigid backwoods can produce some very surprising musical talents. Throne of Malediction is one such group of up-and-comers who have been forced to make their own unique sound because, frankly, there just aren’t enough other bands in their scene for them to copy anyone else”……”There are echoes of death metal, thrash, and even hardcore, but none of those labels fully apply to the music as a whole.”
