Little Jane & The Pistol Whips…what’s in a name? For one thing, “Little” Ashly Jane Holland ‘aint so little, she’s just shy of six foot. Another thing is that the sound coming from this band will surely whip you out onto the dance floor.

Led by the powerful songwriting of Ashly, they stylized their sound from both early county and contemporary Americana. With ‘Q’ King roping in some melodic and tight electric guitar licks and fellow rhythm rustlers – Paul and Russ on drums and bass respectively, they herded a strong following of dancers and music fans alike. Initially, the listener may be drawn to a familiar old tune, maybe something from Ernst Tubb or Loretta Lynn. Lean in a little closer and you may hear a bit of Willie, Patsy Cline or even later country music luminaries such as Dwight Yoakam and Gillian Welch. Their original songs can’t be categorized that easily but one thing’s for sure, there’s a bit of something everyone will like.

The Dirty Shame plays original outlaw country and hits from the likes of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard, The Shame is able to entertain crowds of all ages and walks of life. From heart wrenching ballads to foot stomping honky tonk the music is brought to life with an emotional clarity and a directness sometimes lacking in new music.

On the lead vocals and rhythm guitar is Brandon Hale who asserts his dominance over the microphone from the first note Lead guitarist and vocalist Dan Bradner adds to the mix with his rock and blues vocal style and his telecaster Pedal steel player Tom Day chimes in with perfectly executed steel sounds and solos. Bass Player Mike Hoffman keeps the back end interesting with well thought out lines and syncopation Holding down the foundation is drummer and backing vocalist Dean Wakerlin One of the hardest working bands in Montana the band played more than 130 shows last year entertaining crowds all around the west.

“It doesn’t get much more underground than the frequently frozen hinterlands of Montana, and not many would expect a metal band of any quality to hail from such an inauspicious location. If places like Norway have taught the world anything, however, it’s that the frigid backwoods can produce some very surprising musical talents. Throne of Malediction is one such group of up-and-comers who have been forced to make their own unique sound because, frankly, there just aren’t enough other bands in their scene for them to copy anyone else”……”There are echoes of death metal, thrash, and even hardcore, but none of those labels fully apply to the music as a whole.”
