Dan has a musical style unlike anything you’ve come across. His music grabs you quickly and doesn’t let go… folkish, melody driven, clever, original tunes…. and plenty of old country and rock tunes. Enter Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Johnny Cash, and Tom Petty. There’s no denying his talent when he belts out his raw Americana. He’s an artist in every sense of the word.

Dan was born and raised in the foothills of the Elkhorn Mountains under the shadows of East Helena’s smelter smokestacks.  He’s performed at venues from LA to Boise to just about everywhere in Montana.   In 2007, one of Dan’s performances earned him the honor of Colgate Country Showdown finalist.

In August 2009, Dan released his solo cd “Travelin’ Dog”.

Mountain Moongrass is a 6-piece string band. Our music includes old country and bluegrass tunes as well as a mix of originals. The band features Timothy Mason-guitar, Kristi Dunks-banjo, Jim Constantine-mandolin, Renee Bruce-fiddle, Maggie Lou Perkes-bass, Mike Tierney-guitar/harmonica, and you will hear us all doing a little bit of singing. We are a fun blend of traditional and new sounds!
